„SOS“ warnt, wenn unsere Gewässer gefährdet sind

“SOS” warns when our waters are at risk. This is the title of the article by Veronika Schmidt that the austrian journal Die Presse has recently published on our SOS-Water project. The article continues describing the main objectives of the project, its consortium of eleven partners from nine different countries worldwide and it includes an interview to Taher Kahil, group leader of Water Security Research at IIASA and Project Coordinator of SOS-Water.

“We are working on a holistic approach as a sustainability concept: we need values that indicate when we are getting too close to dangerous tipping points. (…) We combine new methods, models and databases to map the complexity of water systems. The data come from measurements and Earth observations,” says Taher Kahil.
